LEAVE WITH THE RIGHT THINGS SETTLED

Algonquin moving and removal for a clearer handover.

A property handover brings together furniture, paperwork and access deadlines. Second Chance provides moving and junk removal in Algonquin’s McHenry and Kane County portions. Give us the actual addresses and the work that must be completed before the keys change hands.

Set the Algonquin access deadline before the packing deadline.

Write down the last time you can enter the departing home and the first time you can enter the receiving one. A closing appointment, a lease end and a moving appointment may be different times.

Tell us which timings are confirmed and which are still estimates. Have a contact who can authorize entry at each property. If unwanted furniture must leave before a final inspection, include that constraint when discussing the removal schedule.

LOCAL PLANNING NOTE

Algonquin provides separate forms for starting and stopping utility service.

The Village’s utility billing portal directs new occupants to a Start Service Form and departing occupants to a Stop Service Form so a final bill can be sent to a forwarding address.

Follow the current Village instructions directly and confirm the applicable notice period. A Second Chance booking does not notify Water Billing. Keep utility correspondence and private account details out of the furniture inventory you share for a quote.

Keep the property handover notes beside the separate moving and removal lists.

Separate the Algonquin handover from the load itself.

Items that belong in the truck

List retained furniture and boxes by destination. Identify items staying with the property by agreement so they are not accidentally included in the moving request.

Items that need another decision

Mark unwanted furniture for removal and identify belongings awaiting an owner’s approval. Include location and access details for each approved removal rather than a general instruction to empty the house.

A LITTLE CLARITY BEFORE YOU CALL

Algonquin move-out and account questions

Do you cover both county portions of Algonquin?

Yes. McHenry and Kane counties are both within Second Chance’s service area. Give us the origin and destination when requesting moving help.

Does stopping water service reserve my move?

No. Utility account changes and our moving appointment are independent arrangements. Confirm both with the appropriate contact.

Can someone oversee the work on my behalf?

Discuss who will provide access and approve the agreed item lists. Make any limits on changing the job clear before the appointment.
